Depending on the size, location and terrain of your island you may find it challenging, time consuming or unsafe to traverse your island by foot. All-terrain vehicles or ATVs are an excellent compromise to this problem. ATV is a broad term used to describe any number of motorized vehicles for off-road use. Although typically equipped with three or four wheels, some companies also produce models with six wheels and models with treads instead of tires. ATV tires are effective for navigating rocky, muddy, and root covered terrain, which make them excellent for usage on islands with rough terrains.

ATVs can be put into roughly three categories, recreational, work and hybrid. Recreational ATVs are idea for trail riding, work ATVs are heavier and more durable and designed to handle large weights.
